Founded in 2024 by experienced joiner and boat builder Mark Sutherland, we bring exceptional craftsmanship honed over 12 years of hands-on experience, complemented by a B.A. (Hons) degree in Design from Goldsmiths University.

At Sutherland Joinery & Boatbuilding, we pride ourselves on our keen eye for detail and passion for precision. Every project is completed to the highest standard, whether it involves bespoke furniture, period windows, or intricate boat restoration.

Mark and his team have worked across various industries and practices, including, cabinetry for homes, heritage joinery, retail & exhibition installations, and wooden boatbuilding. Their passion lies in creating robust yet beautiful woodwork tailored to each client’s exact specifications. 

Mark’s love for boats began in childhood, and after eight years of woodworking, he turned his craft to boatbuilding in 2020. This transition enhanced his skills, allowing him to shift his focus from the precise right angles of kitchens and cabinetry to the elegant curves and lines of yachts.

Functionality is at the core of our work. With his design background, Mark understands the importance of balancing aesthetics with practicality, and is committed to delivering durable, functional designs that are as visually stunning as they are useful.
